Spotlighting The Artists Unable to Spotlight Themselves On X

Social media and the connections we forge within these platforms often open doors to opportunities that are hard to come by in the real world. In light of the recent ban of X (Twitter) in Brazil, we’re spotlighting some of the incredible Brazilian artists contributing to the vibrant Tezos ecosystem. (I couldn’t cover all the talented Brazilian artists in the Tezos community as there are just way too many talented artists from Brazil.) Brazilian art enriches the world with its diverse and unique cultural perspectives, and these artists are committed to sharing their work, no matter the obstacles.

Thank You Tezos Community, For Being Who You Are

We first want to express our gratitude to the Tezos Community, which has rallied together with heartfelt, grassroots initiatives to support artists who may be affected by this recent ban. A special shoutout goes to @pravijn, who has been curating a list of over 45 Brazilian artists for the past two years — this resource can be found here. Another recent effort led by the team at Objkt.com offers a thread of valuable information to help preserve and share Brazilian artwork, which you can explore here. We also want to acknowledge @terabitcoins for creating the Portuguese-speaking #TezosCommunity Directory, which is accessible here. Thank you to TeraBitcoins and also to Malicious Sheep for helping bring balanced perspectives and information to light amongst all of the chaos.

The Tezos Community continues to exemplify the heart and spirit of humanity, proving that nothing will halt our journey toward a digital art revolution. Let’s celebrate the exceptional talent of Brazilian artists and keep supporting this global digital art movement.

Enjoy Nature by Doug CriptoFace

Doug CriptoFace (@criptoface21)

Doug CriptoFace is a Brazilian street artist who co-hosted spaces from BrazilTezos every Tuesday until recently and continues contributing to the Tezos art community. His popular collection on Objkt, “Yellow Faces”, combines traditional street art style with new digital elements. For every Yellow Faces NFT sold, Doug has committed to painting an edition on the streets in real life. An excellent cross-promotion between the digital and physical art world. He also has a collection offering physical artworks, “Phygital Arts”. Each 1/1 can be sent to collectors upon request. Another notable development is Doug revealing his book of drawings that will be given away to holders of NFTs minted from each page. You can find Doug’s alternative socials on his Linktree and support this artist’s growing momentum.

Curumim by Rosa Morena

Rosa Morena (@rosamorena111)

Rosa Morena is a Tattoo artist who has taken her unique trade to web3 by minting amazing tattoo-inspired designs as NFTs on Tezos since September 2021. Her first series was an awe-inspiring collaboration with her son who was 4 years old at the time, combining his artz scribbles with her digital mixed media techniques. A self-taught artist who expresses herself freely, she has recently begun exploring AI within her creations. Outside of contributing amazing and diverse art to Tezos, she was the fellow co-host of spaces, BrasilTezos, along with Doug CriptoFace.
