Welcome aboard Dennis! Tell us a little bit about yourself

I’m Dennis Klicker (klick) and I grew up on the northern tip of Minnesota, although I currently reside in the Seattle area. I’m 29 years old and I have a dog named Carlos (he’s a good boy). I enjoy collecting vinyl records (most recent purchase was Kendrick Lamar), nice pens and pencils, watches, and Converse sneakers. In my spare time, I pursue photography, explore AI artwork, and try to create content when I can on my blog.

What is your technology background?

I’ve done a little bit of everything, but web development has been my go-to for quite a while. It’s fun to do a little bit of dev, a little bit of design, and put it all together and realize the vision. I don’t consider myself much of a programmer, but I’ve been known to StackOverflow my way through some roadblocks before. I think bridging the gaps between developer and end-user is where I really excel, and to that end I enjoy creating resources for other people to learn from. (I have fond memories of writing guides on how to hack your Playstation Portables back in 2006)

What is your blockchain experience? How did you start and what are you doing right now?

I’ve purchased and sold crypto before, but it really wasn’t until February and March of this year that I actually started doing things on any blockchain outside of Coinbase’s exchange. It started with NFTs shortly after the Beeple news in February/March, and it wasn’t long afterwards I discovered Tezos. Since then it’s been nothing for me but DeFi, NFTs, and the various communities that have been built while continuing to learn and grow with the rest of the tez family. #FullTimeTezos

What are key positions you have held throughout your career, especially in the blockchain domain?

The most important things to me in the blockchain space are inclusivity, accessibility, and longevity. Since really starting to understand the differences between Tezos and virtually every single other blockchain technology, I’ve become a huge proponent of it. The Tezos technology is great, but the secret sauce is the governance. Trying to relay that to other people or explain it in a way that their eyes don’t roll into the back of their head is the challenge.

What do you think about Scamlink? What was your primary motivation behind joining us?

I think the SMAK team has some really exciting products in the pipeline and I’m looking forward to seeing them contribute to the growing DeFi ecosystems of Tezos. When I saw their recent additions to the team alongside some of their job offerings, it seemed like a wonderful opportunity to try and get in on something great. I’m thrilled to be a part of all this.
